Fine Food of Margaret River has been a regular at the Margaret River Farmers Market since 2001. The market stall came first. Online sales were added later, for people who had visited the region and wanted the same things at home.
The founder is Romano Rotelli, who is Italian-born, and the maker's site says the business has been operating in the Margaret River region for more than 23 years.
The own-brand pantry range includes dukkah, vinegar, and a sweet chilli sauce in 375ml bottles. The sauce is graded Mild, Medium and Extra Hot, so nobody at the table gets a surprise. Sweet chilli is one of the harder-working bottles in a kitchen: a dipping sauce, a glaze for the grill, a spoonful into a stir-fry when dinner needs lifting.
The business is in Cowaramup, where a kitchen shop sells the own-brand range next to other South West-made brands. That makes it both a maker and a small showcase for its neighbours, which is a generous way to run a shop.
