Vanilla lip balm is a small stick built on an extra virgin olive oil base, the same base Vasse Virgin uses across its skincare, scented here with vanilla. It's one of five flavours in the range, so there are others to try if vanilla isn't the one.
Vasse Virgin's founders, Louis and Edwina Scherini, started out making cold-process olive oil soap in their own kitchen, and the business has kept extra virgin olive oil at the centre of everything since, through lotions, balms and now a stick this size. The company sells it from its stores in Margaret River, Western Australia, and South Australia.
At 10 grams, it's light enough to keep in a coat pocket or a glovebox without noticing it's there until it's needed.
